During the latest NXT television tapings, WWE Hall Of Famer Beth Phoenix stepped in on commentary this week as she made her NXT commentary debut. While fans were excited on hearing this, PW Insider reports that it is unconfirmed whether this will be a permanent spot for the Glamazon yet.
Phoenix joined Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness on commentary as she replaced Percy Watson. While Watson made no appearance at all during the television tapings, he is reportedly still with the company. Perhaps he will be moved to another role in WWE.
If Beth Phoenix remains on commentary she will be the first woman to be a regular on the NXT commentary team since Renee Young tried the spot years ago. Now Young provides commentary on RAW every week, so this could be a big opportunity for Phoenix.
Beth Phoenix is also slated to make a return to in-ring action during WWE’s upcoming European tour.
