Backstage News & Notes From AEW’s Double Or Nothing PPV
All Elite Wrestling kicked off their promotion with a huge success Saturday night, as the company put on their Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Here are some backstage notes from Saturday’s AEW Double Or Nothing event, courtesy of PWInsider.com:
- AEW President Tony Khan was responsible for timing the event and brought the show home with 15 minutes left at the end of their allotted time. Many people were said to be impressed with his work, as it was the first time he’s done the job.
- IMPACT Wrestling Producer Kevin Sullivan was credited for the AEW video packages which aired on the PPV.
- The event was designed to be as much of a “sports-oriented” program as possible.
- Former TNA employee Bob Rosen was the person responsible for building the ring for the event. He also served as the timekeeper at ringside.
- Atlas Security worked the event and will continue to do so for the company moving forward.
- Matt Jackson was said to have been unaware of Cody Rhodes’ “throne stunt” until the day of rehearsals.
- Khan was said to have been excitedly congratulating everyone after their matches. It was also said that his enthusiasm really touched a lot of people backstage as they realized just how invested he was on a personal level.
- Former Boxing World Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson was backstage.
