Jon Moxley Talks About WWE Changing Plans For The Shield’s Reunion At SummerSlam
Jon Moxley has been the talk of the wrestling world for the last few weeks after his surprise debut for AEW at their Double Or Nothing PPV. Since then Moxley has been on a media tour doing interviews where he has not been holding back about his thoughts, feelings, frustrations and experiences while working with WWE.
Moxley recently spoke with “Flip The Strip” and discussed some of his frustrations dealing with WWE creative, including his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
In addition to Moxley dishing on his WrestleMania match against Lesnar, he also talked about how last year’s SummerSlam PPV was supposed to have been when The Shield reunited. Instead as you may remember, WWE waited until the following night at RAW for the Hounds of Justice to reform.
While Moxley said that the reunion of The Shield on RAW worked, he revealed that they were worried about it not being as impactful if it didn’t happen at SummerSlam. He also talked about how the decision to save The Shield reunion for RAW didn’t do anyone any favors storyline wise, especially Braun Strowman whom he said ended up looking like a doofus.
Regarding WWE saving The Shield reunion for RAW instead of SummerSlam, Moxley said:
“SummerSlam this year the end of the show was supposed to be when the Shield returns. We were worried about it not being as impactful the next night. It still worked just as good. The end of SummerSlam was Roman vs. Brock, Braun comes out, looks like a doofus because he can’t figure out how to cash in.”
