In the home of the multiple time NBA World Champion Chicago Bulls and the man this writer maintains is the greatest basketball player of all time Michael Jordan, Dana White’s Ultimate Fighting Championship is ready to turn the United Center upside down with excitement at they present a double main event with two UFC world titles on the line.
On June 8th, 2019 Marlon Moraes will go one on one in the octagon with the reigning UFC Flyweight Champion of the World Henry Cejudo for the vacant UFC World Bantamweight Championship. It’s a classic fight between two world class athletes, where Cejudo will have an opportunity to become a ‘Champ Champ’, but Moraes is primed and ready to attempt to change those double-championship aspirations.
In the co-feature, the legendary UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion of the World Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title again Jessica Eye. Jessica comes into this fight with a 14-6 record and will attempt to dethrone one of MMA’s best female competitors ever. Shevchenko have a great 16-3 record, will be attempting on June 8th to have a 3-fight win streak, and her last loss to reigning double champion (UFC Bantamweight and Featherweight World champion) Amanda Nunes, was an extremely close fight, as she lost by split decision. This writer considers Valentina a sure fire future Hall of Famer, and she will be ready to defend her title in Chicago.
** Late Breaking News ** In the latest interview from UFC Champion Henry Cejudo, he down played injury rumors saying he is ready to go for UFC 238 and all he suffered was a small bump on his knee. (Source: MMAJunkie.com via a live interview with Cejudo earlier today.)
