On last week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, there was a segment that featured an arm wrestling match between Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman. This was used as a way to help build and progress their program leading towards their match last Friday at WWE’s Super ShowDown PPV in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
According to a report from Fightful, about “a week and a half ago” WWE hired Jay Cabrera to a backstage role with the company. It was also reported that he was the one who pitched the arm wrestling segment with Lashley and Strowman on last week’s RAW. This is interesting because it directly fits with what his previous job entailed.
Previously Cabrera was a senior producer in the World Arm Wrestling League. So it would make sense that he pitched something he was familiar with, which obviously Vince McMahon approved.
We will have to see if Cabrera’s role backstage in WWE will lead to more arm wrestling segments on WWE TV.
