Brock Lesnar’s Impact On Ticket Sales For Raw
Last night Brock Lesnar cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the Universal Championship from Seth Rollins. It was a shocking moment if you didn’t believe Paul Heyman, who told us this would happen last week.
This is Brock’s third Universal Championship reign and wrestling fans were divided on the issue. Many fans were upset because the last two times Brock was champion, the title was rarely defended and the championship was on television a couple times between the Big Four pay per views.
That was the wrestling world, outside of that bubble perception is a little different, in regards to ticket sales at least.
This is a Ticketmaster screen shot taken after Brock became champion. The ticket prices did not move.
This tweet is showing a picture from a third party ticket dealer. The tickets are filtered by price, the colors show how good of a value the tickets are. As you can see the same seats are selling for 2.5x their actual price. These changes happened after Brock won the championship.
Outside of the wrestling sphere, casual or non-fans see Brock’s win and possible appearance as more valuable than Raw as a whole. Looks like @WatchWrestlePod is onto something when they said “there’s a reason he is always given the title”
