Kevin Owens has been doing a great job as a babyface for the past couple of weeks and his promo work, in particular, has been spectacular. This is due to the fact that the words spoken by him are his own as he is apparently not following a script.
According to a report by Sports Illustrated, similar to Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens is now allowed to stray from the script and cut promos in his own way. This is definitely very rare as promos of unscripted nature are almost non-existent in WWE right now.
Like Jericho, Owens is also working without a script, Sports Illustrated has learned. He is working off bullet points, but it is a move by WWE that shows tremendous faith in Owens.
This is certainly a great direction for Kevin Owens and will help develop his character further. Perhaps this will take his feud with Shane McMahon to the next level.
