Former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee, real name April Mendez was involved in a racially charged incident over the weekend.
AJ who was born in New Jersey, is of Latin descent, now resides with her husband CM Punk in between Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois. After leaving WWE she has taken up as an author mostly known for her book “Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules”. She has also picked up some acting roles as well.
Lee tweeted out an incident that happened on July 21st.
A moment ago, a woman driving by in her car shouted at me to go back to where I came from. Instead of being angry, I’m just going to sit at my computer and keep writing about strong, brilliant, Latina superheroes. That’d probably really piss her off. #RepresentationMatters
