WWE Reportedly Considering Launching An NXT Canada Brand
WWE is always on the lookout for more talent, and it looks like their next tryout will be north of the border.
According to a report in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is holding a tryout in Mississauaga, Ontario, Canada. It was also stated that there has been talk of potentially establishing a new NXT Canada brand. In addition, former WWE Superstar Santino Marella’s name has been mentioned along with the NXT Canada brand idea.
“There is at least talk of establishing a new NXT Canada brand and Anthony Carelli’s name (Santino Marella) has been mentioned along with it.”
It has been reported previously that WWE had plans to set up NXT brands around the globe, so it makes sense that they would want to establish themselves in Canada. Interestingly enough, Canada is also the new home of IMPACT Wrestling after being purchased by Anthem Media.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about a potential NXT Canada brand, or the reported WWE Tryouts in Ontario.
