Without question one of the top stars on the AEW roster is Jon Moxley. The former WWE Superstar’s surprise debut at Double or Nothing was the talk of the wrestling world, and he then set his sights on Japan as he won the IWGP United States Championship in his first match with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Mox then entered into this year’s G1 Climax 29 tournament accumulating 10 points, but somewhere along the way he apparently suffered an injury.
According to a report in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jon Moxley is currently working through an injury. It was noted that Moxley has been wrestling injured, and the severity of the injury was not specified. It was however revealed that Moxley is dealing with “some kind of elbow injury.”
It’s being reported that Moxley might being dealing with “an infection that he got in Japan.” It was also stated that Mox “insisted” on fulfilling his obligations with Northeast Wrestling and his match against Pentagon Jr. which took place on August 16th. It was also reported that during the match with Pentagon Jr., that Moxley “was very careful not to bump on the elbow.”
Moxley is still scheduled to take on Kenny Omega on August 31st in Chicago at AEW’s ALL OUT PPV. We will keep you updated if we hear anything else regarding the injury to Jon Moxley’s elbow.
