WWE Adds Injury Time To Luke Harper’s Contract After Requesting Release From Company
WWE Superstar Luke Harper was out of action for awhile after suffering an injury that required surgery, however he is all healed and cleared to compete despite not being used. Harper last appeared for WWE over WrestleMania 35 weekend when he wrestled twice during the AXXESS events, but the company had no plans for him following that which in turn led to Harper requesting his release from the company.
According to the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, as it turns out not only has WWE denied Harper’s request for a release, but it turns out that the company has instead added extra “injury time” onto the back end of Harper’s contract.
“He is not going to be released and they’ve added six months to his contract because they’ve said that his contract term that was to end in November, has been added to because it was frozen due to his time off for wrist surgery. So their viewpoint is that he can’t leave until just before next year’s WrestleMania.”
This falls in line with what Chris Jericho recently stated on Busted Open Radio, where he claimed that WWE is no longer granting any early releases for Superstars that have requested to be let go.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything else regarding Luke Harper’s status with WWE.
