Thunder Rosa – Star of WOW And Lucha Underground Signed To MMA Company Combate Americas
Combate Americas is no stranger to wrestling, Alberto Del Rio has signed on to fight in late October or November. Now Combate Americas has signed women’s independent wrestler Thunder Rosa.
Thunder Rosa, who was known as Kobra Moon in Lucha Underground and Women of Wrestling sent out a tweet to confirm the signing. ESPN also reported on the signing.
Combate Americas signed popular indie pro wrestler Thunder Rosa to a multi-fight contract Friday, sources told ESPN. Thunder Rosa, whose real name is Melissa Cervantes, is a longtime Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and has been training for an MMA debut. Cervantes, 28, is expected to fight on Combate’s Nov. 8 card in her adopted hometown of San Antonio, sources said. Cervantes is perhaps best known for her masked character Kobra Moon on Lucha Underground. The Mexico native is on this current season of AXS TV’s Women of Wrestling as Serpentine. Squared Circle Sirens was the first to report the possibility of Cervantes signing with Combate Americas.
