NXT is gearing up for a monumental day for the brand. What was originally seen as a developmental brand has now turned into a viable third brand for the company. Headed by HHH, it seems NXT is HHH’s idea of what wrestling should be.
NXT’s roster is comprised of wrestlers living in Orlando, training at the WWE Performance Center. The PC now boasts over 100 Superstars in their facility, even with that many up and coming stars, that doesn’t mean NXT isn’t looking for more talent.
Casey from SquaredCircleSirens has reported that two independent wrestlers are backstage for tonight’s NXT.
New Jersey independent wrestlers Tasha Steelz will be on hand backstage tonight at NXT. Karissa Rivera will be backstage at an upcoming NXT taping.
Karissa and Tasha both currently train under Damien Adams.
They both had a WWE tryout in December of 2018. Karissa has appeared on NXT TV wrestling current RAW superstar Lacey Evans alongside accompanying Velveteen Dream for a promo. She has also appeared on SmackDown wrestling against The IIconics in a tag team match.
Tasha Steelz is a three-year veteran who has studied wrestling at the IWF Wrestling Training School and Team Adams Academy, both based in New Jersey. She is the current Chaotic Wrestling Women’s Champion and a former BattleClub Pro Icons Champion.SquaredCircleSirens
Both recently have tried out of the upcoming WWE Superstar Search which is being produced by Bunim-Murray Productions – the company behind Total Bellas, Total Divas and “Keeping up With The Kardashians”. They both were backstage at RAW and SmackDown Live when they ran Madison Square Garden this month.
It’s unknown at what capacity these two will be used, but their may be a squash match or two to showcase NXT talent to a broader audience.
