Rey Mysterio Highlighted By Fox For Attending Minnesota Vikings Game – Gets Likened To Nacho Libre
Pro wrestling has a tough time getting accepting by mainstream media, and an even tougher time getting accepted by mainstream sports. As you can see in the clip below that was isolated and promoted by Fox Sports.
WWE and Fox seem to be trying to synergize their brands as WWE is weeks away from becoming a staple on Friday night television for Fox. More WWE Superstars have been seen at sporting events or commentating in the booth. This time Rey Mysterio was shown at a Viking’s game and as you can see the commentators didn’t know anything about him besides his name.
Even going a step further as saying that Rey is like Nacho Libre, which was a comedy wrestling movie starring Jack Black. The comments in the Fox Sports tweet were overtly negative towards the disrespect that Rey was shown.
Hopefully in the future Fox will do better when promoting shows and talent that are soon to be a part of their company.
