BritWres is going through a type of recession right now. Once a thriving scene has now had two promotions close in the last 60 days and one promotion not even hold their first event.
The reason most of the scene seems to be struggling is because WWE signed most of the areas stars for its NXT UK brand. A good number of NXT UK stars can still wrestle on select shows as long as it doesn’t interfere with NXT UK’s schedule.
Southside Wrestling was a promotion that featured many talents that went on to sign with NXT UK. Sadly Southside is shutting its doors and have one more show, a farewell show, on the books before it’s all said and done.
It appears the show will not have any NXT UK talent appear after WWE pulled the wrestlers from the show.
The promotion said that they asked permission in advance and accepted all conditions. But after the show was booked and advertised, WWE pulled their talent with no explanation.
