The talk about wrestlers unionizing has been going on for near forty years now. The movement has never really gained a foothold ever since Jesse Ventura tried to unionize the WWF locker room in the 80’s and WWF had a faction called The Union in the 90’s.
David Starr is an independent wrestler. He has proclaimed himself strictly an independent wrestler, refusing to sign to any major company or being exclusive to any company in general. He is known as one of the most politically progressive wrestlers in the industry and routinely puts his money where his mouth is. Following him on Twitter for a few days would let you know how often he takes a stance on a litany of issues, in wrestling and in the world.
David Starr announced on Twitter that there will be a Unionize Workshop in London for professional wrestlers, which is the first step into starting an actual union in wrestling.
