Former WWE Tag Team Champion And Member Of The Anoa’i Family Samu Undergoes Liver Transplantation

Lance Anoa’i, took to Twitter this weekend to give an update on his father, Samu. Samu has been wrestling since the 80’s for nearly every big promotion you can think of. He was trained by members of his Anoa’i family and went on to have a fairly successful wrestling career.

As of 2014 he was still wrestling, teaming with his son Lance. In 2018 Samu revealed he had stage 4 liver cancer and was awaiting a transplant. Good news came this year when Samu found out he would undergo the transplantation.

So after about a 13 1/2 hour liver transplant surgery my dad went thru, the DR. Was very pleased how the surgery went! My dad is in tons of pain! But I personally wanted to come on here and say thank you for all the wishes and prayers! His journey to recovery is just beginning!!

Major League Wrestling also shared that a GoFundMe has been started to help out with medical costs associated with the surgery and recovery process.
