Bruce Prichard Comments on Eddie Guerrero/Kurt Angle Incident from 2004
On the most recent episode of Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard, Prichard recalled the incident between Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, and the Big Show. Guerrero believed that Angle stiffed him and Angle thought that Guerrero’s timing was off. They got into a legitimate fight and were broken apart.
Prichard had this to say about the incident:
“I was there for it. I didn’t see the actual attempted takedown. And what it was, is they got into it, and it was apparently a little shove here. But Eddie tried to double-leg [takedown] Kurt, and Kurt just front facelocked Eddie and got him down, and everybody got between them, thank God. But right afterward, Eddie’s sitting on a table right outside of gorilla. And I’d heard of this, and I come running up, and I look at him, ‘Well what the f**k happened?? What were you thinking?’ [Eddie said], ‘I don’t know, man. I’m just stupid.’ [laughs] ‘He’s a f**king Olympic gold medalist!’ He goes, ‘I know! I’m just stupid man, okay?’ And it was a pissed-off Eddie, because he realized — it was tempers flaring, hot-headedness. And Eddie could be very — very passionate at times. And Kurt was an Olympic gold medalist that could pretty much do whatever he wanted with you.”
