Randy Orton’s WWE contract will expire in 2020 and this might be a reason why he is showing interest in AEW.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Orton stands in a position to make a good amount of money. The belief is that he is earning $3 million a year in WWE.
In the end, for someone like Orton, who is believed to be making in the $3 million per year range, and doesn’t work a full house show schedule, WWE is probably the better place. At 39, he may be able to get an even lesser schedule. Whether he’s the right mix for AEW is a question but next year you’d think they’d be looking for a big pick up and Orton would fit that bill, there’s the question if they want to spend at that level for a new guy.
We wonder if Randy Orton will be getting a similar kind of deal with AEW. If Orton ever goes to AEW, he will certainly bring in a lot of viewers for the promotion.
Orton will be coming out of a ten-year contract with WWE, so it might be a great deal for him to work in AEW.
