WWE Reportedly Changed Plans For Title Match At TLC PPV
WWE’s TLC PPV is scheduled to take place this coming Sunday, December 15th, and one of the matches announced so far is the SmackDown Tag Team Title Match.
The Revival won the four-way tag match to determine who would face The New Day for the SmackDown Tag Titles, however it looks like that might not have been the original plan for the tag title match at TLC.
On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that originally The Revival were not slated to be in the SmackDown Tag Title Match at TLC. He said that the original plan was to have Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler face The New Day at TLC, but WWE decided to change the plan because the two were busy with another program.
“The idea a couple of days ago was that The New Day was going to defend against Roode and Ziggler. That was up in the air so they decided to do a four-way without Roode and Ziggler because Roode and Ziggler were occupied with Corbin and Roman Reigns.”
It was also previously reported that there is some feeling internally within WWE that the company was “f**king” with The Revival with the recent slew of releases yesterday. The change and last minute addition of The Revival into the match could be even more proof that this could in fact be true.
