WWE Superstars Mike and Maria Kanellis recently signed new five year deals worth $250,000 per year. Shortly thereafter, Mike Kanellis requested his release from the company and Maria had to take time off while she’s pregnant with their second child.
Mike Kanellis is currently sitting at home while not being used, after not being given his release. It has also been said that he has been doing everything that has been asked of him by WWE. He has also been doing some motivational speaking appearances as of late as well.
On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM, Bully Ray talked about Mike and Maria Kanellis. He stated that he has heard from some of the boys in the back that Mike and Maria “might have misled” WWE and Vince McMahon prior to re-signing with the company.
“I heard rumors, and not internet rumors and dirt sheet rumors. I’ve heard talk of some scuttlebutt amongst the boys that Mike and Maria might have misled the WWE when their new contracts were signed. I don’t know this for a fact but I’m saying maybe the WWE didn’t want to release them because I want to keep them [and get] their money’s worth out of them.”
It isn’t known exactly what Bully Ray was referring to by saying they “misled” WWE, but this isn’t the first time we have heard something similar thrown around.
