When People Within WWE Found Out About Andrade’s Wellness Violation
It was reported last night that WWE United States Champion Andrade had failed a drug test, and would be suspended for 30-days for his first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy.
WWE officially announced Andrade’s suspension earlier today, acknowledging his violation of their Wellness Policy. It is still not known exactly what Andrade tested positive for, but he was written off WWE TV last night on RAW.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Andrade’s violation of WWE’s Wellness Policy. He went on to explain when people within WWE found out about Andrade’s violation and suspension, stating that the writing team wasn’t told until sometime after Monday morning.
“Vince may have known and [Triple H] may have known yesterday, but literally nobody else — like the writing team wouldn’t have known until [Monday]. It was done at that point it wasn’t like… they didn’t know [before the Royal Rumble]. You know Andrade winning in theory probably Vince probably found out [on Monday] because my gut is that they would have had Andrade win clean on Sunday.”
“I know [Monday] morning nobody knew. I know by the afternoon everybody did know. You know and then they adjusted from there.”
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about Andrade’s failed drug test, and status with WWE following his suspension for his first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy.
