WWE fired over a hundred employees on April 15th, including several WWE Superstars, making it one of the darkest days in the company’s history. This includes No Way Jose.
Jose spoke to Inside The Ropes, where he revealed that he has something entirely different planned for the independent circuit. He will no longer go by the No Way Jose gimmick and try something more serious.
Jose said, “It’s tough not because now I have to either try to go back into that [character] or try to come up with something completely different.’ He added, “As good as the character was for me in terms of making a living, I don’t want to continue that character. I just feel like it did what it did and if people want to book me for that or whatever, it’s gonna be possibly one off or whatnot but I have so much more to show. I have a more serious side, I have an aggressive side.”
This set of affairs has given him valuable time to truly reinvent himself by the time he goes back to the indies. We will have to see how different his character will be once the current world situation improves.
