More Information About WWE Parting Ways With Gerald Brisco

WWE made a lot of releases back on April 15th. Not only was on screen talent released, but cuts were made backstage as well.

It was reported yesterday that one of the names who didn’t survive WWE’s mass releases was Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco. Brisco had been serving as a talent scout for the company, and had been with WWE since 1984.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Gerald Brisco was discussed and Dave Meltzer stated that he wasn’t released but that he was furloughed. Brisco’s tenure with WWE was also said to have played a large part in the decision, much like that of another long-time WWE employee Mike Chioda, who was also released. It was noted that the two had higher salaries due to their long standing tenure with the company, which contributed to WWE’s decision to let them go.

We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about anyone else that was released or furloughed from WWE recently.
