Chris Jericho Talks About Future Of Recently Released WWE Superstars
On April 15th, WWE released several WWE Superstars as well as other members of staff. A total of over a hundred employees were let go that day. Chris Jericho does not work for WWE anymore but he is well aware of what happened.
Jericho spoke to TV Insider, where he said that it is an interesting time in the professional wrestling world. The landscape was changing and things were looking better for the business until the COVID-19 outbreak started.
He revealed that he does not know what All Elite Wrestling has planned for all the recently released WWE Superstars. Some of them will likely have to go to Japan and he hopes all of them manage to get signed somewhere.
“It’s an interesting time right now because a lot of guys got released. By proxy, you went from a business that was very profitable in many different levels to everything grinding to a halt. Hopefully, many of them will get picked up by different companies.”
“Some guys may have to go overseas. I don’t know what AEW has planned. That’s not really my wheelhouse. But I’m sure everybody is going to land where they should land. It’s just how it goes.”
It is not certain who might end up where. The Revolt have teased joining AEW and Zack Ryder is a close friend of Cody Rhodes, which might make him join the company. We will have to see what they do in the end.
