Report: Why Vince McMahon Is Angry With Roman Reigns
The relationship between Roman Reigns and Vince McMahon is far from good currently. Reigns did not work WrestleMania 36 due to COVID-19 and has been absent from WWE television ever since.
Vince McMahon ordered that Reigns not be mentioned on television. He was also removed from a WrestleMania 31 clip on this week’s RAW. The company is also selling face masks with designs of Superstars, but Roman Reigns is not included.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez talked about McMahon’s relationship with Roman Reigns. Alvarez pointed out that WWE only reluctantly canceled shows and that too at the last possible minute.
“They waited until the very last minute kicking and screaming to cancel these shows [in March]. Then, of course when they cancelled these shows as much as they could it was business as usual. They’re gonna run live every week and no matter how much criticism they were just going to [continue] — what does that tell you?”
“What does it tell you when they do that and then they get mad at Roman Reigns because he has leukemia. He has leukemia. He’ll be battling it for the rest of his life, okay? What does it tell you when they get made at him for going home?”
“You know what it tells me? It tells me they think this whole thing is BS. They think this whole coronavirus is the flu — maybe [they think] it’s not as bad as the flu. You know, Vince is out there, he’s 74-years-old. He’s running around like a crazy person, he’s not sleeping. What it tells you is that he doesn’t take this seriously at all. That’s why he’s mad at Roman Reigns.”
It is very likely Reigns will return once the COVID-19 outbreak subsides. Till then, the company will not make any mention of him.
