Exclusive: Top AEW Star Absent From Last Night’s Dynamite & Tonight’s TV Tapings
AEW is filming next week’s episodes of Dynamite and Dark tonight from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.
Last week on the go-home episode of AEW Dynamite leading into this past weekend’s Double or Nothing PPV, Rey Fenix suffered an injury during his match with Orange Cassidy. Fenix took a nasty bump on the floor after coming up short on a senton, which saw him land hard on his back and hip.
The injury was severe enough for Fenix to have been pulled from the Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing and replaced by Joey Janela.
After speaking with sources within AEW, I was told that Rey Fenix was not in Jacksonville last night for Dynamite, and is not going to be there tonight for next week’s TV tapings either. Fenix traveled back home to take care of a personal matter and heal up following his injury last week.
It is believed that he will return to AEW television in a couple weeks once the company returns following next week’s taped broadcasts, and that his injury shouldn’t keep him out of action much longer.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about Rey Fenix’s injury status and when we can expect to see him return to AEW TV.
