WWE Superstar Samoa Joe was injured awhile back during the filming of a recent commercial for WWE Monday Night Raw. Since then WWE has decided to add Joe to the RAW commentary team.
It was thought that the move was only temporary, however that now may now no longer be the case.
Previously it was reported that the feeling within WWE was that Samoa Joe was too valuable in the ring to be kept on commentary permanently. It was believed that WWE would eventually move Joe back to the active roster and once again assume the role of in-ring performer. But, according to a new report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has changed their mind and decided to keep Samoa Joe on the RAW commentary for good.
“Samoa Joe is still not cleared to return, however he is also now considered the permanent replacement for Lawler as an announcer. What that means if/when he is cleared is that he may have the role where he announces and they can shoot angles for him to wrestle using that (since those kind of angles usually do well).”
Of course, plans could always change.. But it looks like we can expect to see Samoa Joe as a permanent fixture on the RAW Announce Team.
