Booking details have come out regarding EVIL’s shock victory at NJPW Dominion which saw him capture both the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championship titles. EVIL defeating the strong favourite Tetsuya Naito, thanks to a huge assist from The Bullet Club and Dick Togo. We speculated here at Bodyslam that the decision was made due to the availability of certain Bullet Club members at this moment in time.
On the Wrestling Observer Radio show, Dave Meltzer said that NJPW’s decision to place EVIL as the new top heel in the company gives them a way to push the Bullet Club while Jay White and KENTA are unable to travel to Japan due to travel restrictions during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
