Rey Mysterio’s contecat negotiations, or lack thereof, have become public knowledge as of late. However, the master of the 619 is still appearing on TV for WWE despife his current contract having expired. He is currently working for WWE without a contract.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Mysterio’s contract is actually carrying over to this current time even though he has no contract. Mysterio is continuing to work on the same terms of his original 18 month contract.
Mysterio asked for a raise from Vince McMahon, but it was denied due to the fact so much talent was recently reased. This was reportedly the main reason for the contractual issues. Mysterio not signing a new deal could leave the door open for many options such as AEW, Impact Wrestling and NJPW. It is also rumoured that Mysterio may be on the verge of retirement, which may now be even more likely.
