Backstage News On Why WWE Booked Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins On This Week’s RAW
As seen during this week’s Monday Night RAW broadcast, Kevin Owens worked a match against long time rival Seth Rollins and wound up picking up the win. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE booked the match as a way to start up the feud between Owens and Rollins again as a precaution in casd Rey Mysterio doesn’t re-sign with WWE.
As has been widely reported multiple times, Rey Mysterio is working for WWE without a contract, but despite this he will be facing Seth Rollins in an “Eye for an Eye” match this Sunday night at Extreme Rules. To win the match, one man has to remove the other man’s eye, which WWE will be using CGI to film. Mysterio and WWE have been in constant negotiations over the last month but there was still no deal in place as of early this week.
