Deonna Purrazzo won the Impact Wrestling Women’s Title at Slammiversary this past Saturday night. The company clearly have a lot of trust in Purrazzo because they have yet to tie her down to a real contract. Purrazzo was appearing for Impact on a “per appearance” deal. They had not signed her to a real contract prior to Slammiversary and according to Fightful, she still isn’t working under a typical deal.
Purrazzo’s lack of a regular contract led many to believe that she would not win on Saturday, but this was obviously not the case. Shortly after winning the Womens Championship, Fightful were told that Purrazzo and IMPACT are still working on that per-appearance agreement.
Deonna Purrazzo may very well sign a deal with Impact Wrestling, and the company will be hoping she does. They had enough faith in her to book her to defeat their reigning champion of 6 months – Jordynne Grace. The story between Grace and Purrazzo likely isn’t over, but we’ll have to see what’s in the future for both of them.
