AEW announced on this Wednesday’s epaidoe of Dynamite that they will be holding a Women’s Tag Team Cup tournament throughout this summer. It will feature a total of eight teams and as of this writing the participants are unknown.
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, it was reported by Dave Meltzer that the current plan is for this tournament to be an annual tradition for AEW.
However, the chances of that happening will depend largely on whether this year’s inaugural edition does well in the ratings or not.
