MVP In Talks With WWE For Long-Term Contract
When MVP made his return to WWE, it was initially going to be a role as a backstage producer. However, WWE cancelled touring that removed the requirement for another producer. Following which MVP has had a prominent role on WWE television.
On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, the Hurt Business got another member as Shelton Benjamin joined the faction. MVP is the leader of the faction and it seems he could be remaining in the company for a long time.
MVP spoke on the Gorilla Position podcast, where he revealed that he is in talks with WWE regarding a longer deal for him as they are very happy with his performance.
“It went so well that I was invited to San Antonio the night next for Monday Night RAW and I was given an opportunity to wrestle Rey Mysterio who’s my son’s favorite wrestler and then I was offered a job as a producer which I accepted because I had the intention of retiring anyway, and I was working as a producer and then I was asked to do an on-screen V.I.P. Lounge and then I was asked to do a short match and another on-screen segment and another and another and another and before I knew it, my producer — my responsibilities as a producer became less and less as I was asked to do more and more as talent, and now I can say that the WWE and myself are in negotiations for a long-term deal.”
MVP has shown his in-ring prowess as well as his skills on the microphone, so it was expected WWE would give him a long-term contract.
