WWE confirmed last week that this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event will no longer be taking place in Boston at the TD Garden next month due to the restrictions placed as a result of COVID-19.
WWE noted at the time that:
“SummerSlam will stream live on Sunday, August 23 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and information regarding a new location for the event is forthcoming.”
Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted today that the company are still very much considering their options to hold the event outside the Performance Center, including a possibly outdoor location.
WWE have had internal talks to potentially have the event either take place on a beach or on a boat.
