Current SummerSlam Matches Being Planned
Vince McMahon has been making a lot of last minute changes backstage before episodes of RAW in an attempt to save the shows rapidly decreasing viewership. Just two days ago, Vince made last second changes to the Women’s Title picture which saw Sasha Banks become the latest Champ Champ. This wasn’t the only change he has made recently though and as the old adage goes – the card is subject to change.
Ringside News have learned that Vince McMahon is still figuring out SummerSlam, which is concerning given how soon the event is. Aleister Black’s eye injury is nothing more than an angle and not a way to write him off TV as some sites have reported. He is currently expected to be involved in some way.
Dominik Mysterio is also said to be in the mix as Ringside News were told by a member of the writing staff close to the situation. It was explicitly mentioned to them that there are currently “too many variables,” and the term “drowning” was also used at one point in the conversation. There are clearly a lot of options available to McMahon for SummerSlam. Dominik may well be “in the mix,” but no mention of his father Rey was made. The contract situation for Rey Mysterio is still unknown, and his re-signing could cause another huge creative change.
So far nothing has been officially locked down except for the matches that WWE have already announced – Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre and Street Profits vs Andrade & Garza. Ideas floating around include Seth Rollins vs Dominik or a tag team match where Dominik would team with Aleister Black against Rollins and Murphy. “All options are being discussed” at this time.
Another idea being touted for SummerSlam is Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens. It was told to Ringside News that a re-match of their WrestleMania clash is a strong contender.
