WWE Payback Reportedly Planned For Week After SummerSlam
It seems as though WWE have added a new pay-per-view to the 2020 schedule… though it’s not the one that many fans were expecting.
While no official WWE announcement has been made, it was reported today by @Wrestlevotes that WWE have now added the WWE Payback pay-per-view to their schedule for this year.
What makes this interesting is that Payback 2020 is seemingly scheduled for August 30, which is just one week after the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Furthermore, it’s also interesting that WWE seem to have planned the WWE Payback pay-per-view for August 30th, as this is the date that had been rumored for a potential WWE Evolution 2 to take place on. It was being reported earlier this month that WWE were looking at holding either a second night of SummerSlam or an Evolution 2 special for August 30th, the week after SummerSlam.
Back in May it was reported that WWE had the following pay-per-view schedule lined up before the coronavirus pandemic hit:
* Clash of Champions on September 20 from Newark
* Hell In a Cell on October 18 from Atlanta
* Survivor Series on November 22 from Dallas
* TLC on December 20 from Chicago
There is also the potential for a return to Saudi Arabia this year. There is currently no update to whether the aforementioned events are still being planned or what their new locations will be. There is also no word yet on the location for Payback or any other official details.
