Two years is a long time in MMA, it’s even longer when that’s the time frame in which you haven’t saluted, which makes this bout all the more interesting.
As first reported by Raphael Marinho of Combate (via David Tees of Fightful.com), Jeremy Stephens vs Edson Barboza at Featherweight is on tap for the UFC: Holm vs Aldana card.
Stephens (28-18-0-1) comes into this bout on a four fight skid having lost to Jose Aldo, Zabit Magomedsharipov, Yair Rodriguez & Calvin Kattar, his last victory was over two years ago when he stopped Josh Emmett back in early 2018.
Barboza (20-9-0) lost his debut bout at Featherweight to Dan Ige although it was a razor close split decision. His last victory was at Lightweight over Dan Hooker when he knocked him out in Round 3 in late 2018.
UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Aldana goes down on Saturday, October 3rd from a location TBA with Holm vs Aldana serving as the cards main event.
