More Details About The Rock’s Purchase Of The XFL
It was announced earlier today that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has purchased the XFL.
According to a report from PWInsider, the name of the company that officially purchased the XFL is Alpha Acquico, LLC. The company was listed in bankruptcy court as being a joint venture along with Redbird Capital Partners Management LLC, and The Garcia Companies.
In addition, it was stated that the Bankruptcy Court in the District of Delaware noted that they were the only “qualified bidder” that came to the table. The XFL was to go up for auction later today, however that is now cancelled following the leagues purchase.
“The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware noted in a filing today that since they were the only “qualified bidder” that came to the table, the auction for the XFL today was canceled.”
Also, it was reported that $8.5 million will be financed towards any payments which are needed to “cure previous financial defaults from the old owner.”
Sale of the XFL will not be official until August 7th.
