Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson along with Red Bird Capital and The Garcia Companies have purchased the XFL.
It was stated that they were the only “qualified bidder” to bring an offer to the table, as the deal becomes official on August 7th.
The Rock commented on the purchase of the XFL earlier today, as he took to Twitter posting a graphic of an XFL football with “Dwayne Johnson Owner” on it. The image also included a statement which read:
“With my trail blazing partner @DanyGarciaCo & Red Bird Capital, we have acquired the XFL. With gratitude & passion I’ve built a career with my own two hands and will apply these callouses to our @xfl2020 brand. Excited to create something special for the fans!”
