As is being reported by Fightful Select, more backstage details on the shocking introduction of RAW Underground have been revealed. WWE were still filming content for RAW Underground for next week’s RAW broadcast until midnight EST on Monday.
Shane McMahon is seemingly going to be the permanent host of the new RAW Underground segment. Some other unknown hosts were also suggested. With regards to the name of RAW Underground, the term “Underground” was thrown around repeatedly by WWE creative members and the name eventually stuck.
The RAW Underground segment featured Shane McMahon hosting “underground” shoot-style “fights” that weren’t actually shoot fights in a ropeless ring somewhere backstage at the WWE Performance Center. The segment had a very Fight Club feel to it. MVP’s Hurt Business stable took over the first instalment of Underground and declared that it was under new management.
