Is ThunderDome The Answer?
Last week, WWE announced they would be moving their operations to Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. With this move and the addition of a virtual experience of fans, WWE will try to incorporate a arena-type of atmospheres to their shows.
On paper, everything sounds great. The NBA has seen great success with the same production for their games, but will this help WWE an their declining ratings?
The booking
WWE can have the closest thing to an arena type atmosphere but if the booking is not good all this resources and money used for ThunderDome would be wasted.
Storylines like Retribution could benefit of this virtual fan experience or it could be the thing that dooms it. WWE needs to improve the booking especially for this environment going forward.
The Atmosphere
Another important factor will be the look of ThunderDome. In this department WWE has always been able to deliver and by the look of images and videos of the construction of ThunderDome it seems WWE is going all out.
Going Forward
ThunderDome is going to most likely give WWE a ratings bump this friday. But like it was mentioned before, if the booking is not good, all this efforts will be wasted for nothing. ThunderDome looks cool and its a great concept to try right now, but only time will tell if WWE are able to take advantage of the possibilities of ThunderDome.
