UPDATE: According to a report from Pwinsider, Phillip A. Thomas II has now been denied bail. He appeared before the Hillsborough Circuit Judge Catherine Catlin during a pre-trial hearing on Thursday and she outright refused to grant him bail.
Catlin said that the man was a threat to community safety due to Deville’s testimony. Thomas II made numerous threats on Deville’s life and her family and friends. He has been charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping and criminal mischief.
Thomas’ public defender argued for a $2 million bail and electronic monitoring but the judge denied that request.
