Rey Mysterio’s previous deal with WWE had expired, and it had been reported that he was working a per appearance deal while a new deal was being worked out. Mysterio was written off TV following his match with Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules, but Mysterio returned to television recently and will be in his son Dominik’s corner at SummerSlam.
With Mysterio’s return, it also indicates that the two have come to terms on a new WWE contract.
It was mentioned in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the current belief is that Rey Mysterio signed a new three year contract with WWE, which falls in line with the typical length that WWE targets for Superstar contracts.
