John Cena’s Role In Upcoming DC Movie “The Suicide Squad” Revealed
John Cena’s role in the 2021 DC movie “The Suicide Squad” has officially been revealed.
During the recent DC Fandome virtual convention, John Cena was officially announced to be playing “Peacemaker” in the upcoming movie. During a behind-the-scenes trailer that was played for viewers, John Cena described the character as a “douchey Captain America” (wasn’t that his WWE character?)
On Twitter, Cena posted a brief statement and video about how much heart and effort the entire cast has put into making the movie.
“It’s a tremendous honor, this has been an opportunity that’s just words can’t describe it not only to become part of the DC Universe, but to work with such a versatile and talented cast on such a globally known property, and especially with one of the better storytellers I’ve ever been able to be associated with in James Gunn, the whole process has been amazing. I know here at the DC Fandome, we’re starting the snowball rolling to get the fans across the world excited for suicide squad. Rest assured that all of us that were involved in making the movie are extremely proud and extremely excited. And what we have and we really think we’re going to surprise a lot of folks who want to see Suicide Squad.”
Cena will make his big-screen debut in the DC Universe next summer. According to the movies director James Gunn, “The Suicide Squad” will be released on August 6, 2021.
