Roman Reigns made his shocking return at SummerSlam last night, and his appearance was one that even a lot of people backstage didn’t see coming. It wasn’t until minutes before the Universal Title match that word started to spread about Roman being present at the ThunderDome.
WWE will obviously be putting all of their efforts into Reigns’ return for the foreseeable future, but they’re not planning to reuse old plans from WrestleMania 36. This is set to be a new direction for the Big Dog.
Ringside News have exclusively reported that the story going around about WWE going back to their original WrestleMania 36 plans is not correct. WWE have since decided to go an alternate route and do something different than what they originally had planned for the show of shows.
A writer with immediate knowledge of the situation confirmed to Ringside News that Vince McMahon and Roman Reigns worked this new plan out between them. It was seen to be “the biggest thing” they could do with Reigns on his return which is why they went in this direction. It was booked for “shock value,” and it certainly worked.
It was also noted that both Vince McMahon and Roman Reigns are extremely excited about what they were able to achieve at SummerSlam. Both men are also very happy and excited about what is just over the horizon.
Roman Reigns’ huge return to weekly television is expected to take place this week on WWE SmackDown. There will likely be a few highlight videos showing Reigns during tonights RAW, but he is still officially a member of the blue brand.
