Alexa Bliss Reportedly Nixed From SummerSlam Main Event Plans
Following the Main Event for the WWE Universal Championship between Braun Strowman and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, we saw the return of Roman Reigns. The Big Dog appeared and attacked the newly crowned Universal Champion The Fiend.
It appears as though this wasn’t the original plan for the Main Event at SummerSlam, as it’s being reported that Alexa Bliss was supposed to be involved in the match in some capacity.
According to a new report from Steve Carrier from Ringside News, the rumors that Alexa Bliss was originally planned to be part of the SummerSlam Main Event match between Strowman and The Fiend are true. Bliss posted some unhappy tweets yesterday morning, after not being used at all Sunday night at SummerSlam.
It was not revealed what WWE had planned originally for Alexa Bliss, The Fiend, and Braun Strowman, however it was stated that the finish of the match would still have seen Bray Wyatt go over Braun Strowman and walk out of SummerSlam the new Universal Champ.
Let's also get this out of the way because we were able to confirm it. Alexa Bliss WAS supposed to be involved with the main event at #SummerSlam. They made the change during the show. #GoodShitPal
Wouldn't you be a bit upset too?
More details coming soon to RSN.
