On last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Mr. Brodie Lee defeated Cody Rhodes to become the new AEW TNT Champion.
Following the match, Lee and the Dark Order viciously attacked Cody Rhodes and the rest of the Nightmare Family. It now looks as though we won’t be seeing Cody on AEW TV for awhile.
According to a report from PWInsider, Cody Rhodes will be off of AEW TV for “an extended period” in order to help sell the attack from Brodie Lee and the rest of The Dark Order.
Cody being written off TV, and the timing of him dropping the AEW TNT Championship to Brodie Lee could all be due to his involvement in another project that is under production with Stephen Amell.
“The timing may have something to do with STARZ Heels series going into production in Georgia as Stephen Amell specifically asked Cody to take part in the series when Amell’s casting was announced last year. The timing certainly matches up.”
We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about Cody Rhodes potentially being written off AEW television while working on an outside project with his friend Stephen Amell.
