WWE Confirm Parting Ways With Mauro Ranallo
As we broke to you earlier this morning that former NXT commentator Mauro Ranallo is no longer working for WWE, WWE and Ranallo have since both confirmed that they have parted ways with each other.
Ranallo shared a statement on Facebook saying:
“I appreciate the opportunity I had to realize my childhood dream of working in sports entertainment, and I wish WWE well in the future. Now I want to direct my focus and devote my time to my other projects and to my mental health charitable activities and the well-being of my mother and myself.”
Ranallo’s departure comes at the same time WWE has been in talks with Stu Bennett (Wade Barrett) to come to the company full-time. Bennett started last week as a third announcer in working with Vic Joseph and Beth Phoenix on the NXT show.
Ranallo will continue to work for Showtime doing boxing and with Bellator doing MMA, but at 50, had achieved his childhood dream of announcing for WWE and was looking at devoting more time to mental health advocacy, doing voiceover work and other television and/or digital projects.
