AEW’s women’s division took a massive hit when “The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien” Kris Statlander went down with a serious injury. Statlander was injured in a tag match on the June 10 edition of AEW Dynamite as she teamed with current AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida against Penelope Ford and Nyla Rose.
Statlander suffered a torn ACL that required surgery. The indie superstar provided an update on her recovery via Twitter Friday afternoon.
Bodyslam.net wishes Statlander a speedy recovery.
Speaking of Shida, she will defend the AEW Women’s Championship Saturday at All Out against NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa. Britt Baker will also face Big Swole in a Tooth and Nail Match. AEW owner Tony Khan also announced Friday afternoon that match, which will emanate from Dr. Baker’s dental office, has been promoted to the main card.
